The quality of the shallow, fairly stony hillside soils gives our Chassagne-Montrachet village, Pot Bois great length and complexity. Its tension, particularly appreciable in warm vintages, is due to its unique topography. Bordered by Premier Crus, it is higher than other village parcels and faces slightly east. Its fruits ben-efit from the cool early morning sun, and find early relief from the hot afternoon sun, when it hides behind the fold of the famous Chassagne-Montrachet hill.
