Domaine Raphael Sallet

Sallet is one of the maestros of fine white Burgundy winemaking and is internationally regarded for crafting exceptional Chardonnay and for developing outstanding wines from lesser-known village appellations such as Mâcon Uchizy. The key to his success is that Sallet leaves no rock, or vine, unturned when it comes to his fanatical attention to detail. He is a strict adherent of a viticultural practice known as ‘lutte raisonnée ’. Roughly translated as ‘the reasoned struggle ’ it attempts to avoid the use of chemically based herbicides and fungicides. While not quite organic, Raphaël Sallet consistently produces wines that leave most other Burgundian winemakers green with envy.
