Jean Charles Rion

The 9.5-hectare wine estate, located in Premeaux-Prissey, is run by Jean-Charles Rion, the third generation of winegrowers. Created in 1995 with only 1 hectare of vines, in Côte de Nuits villages, it now covers 9.5 hectares and moved to the family property in August 2023. It offers 6 new red appellations: Nuits-Saint-Georges villages and 1er Cru, Vosne Romanée villages and 1er Cru, Clos de Vougeot and Échezeaux, thus becoming a producer of Côte de Beaune, Côte de Nuits, Hautes-Côtes de Nuits, with Grands Crus.

Jean-Charles cultivates his vines according to sustainable farming, limiting his inputs to respect the terroirs. After studying viticulture in Beaune and Dijon, he started his own farm in 2010. Passionate, he devotes himself to producing quality PDO wines, without resorting to a trading structure.

The family-run estate is made up of a team of three people, and calls on seasonal workers for intense work periods such as pruning, disbudding and harvesting.
